I was looking for an insanely quick read that might still get my brain and heart working, and thus, I stumbled—literally as I tripped in the library—across No Dress Rehearsal.
The sweet but sparse exploration an individual experiencing her own death complete with every cliché about making the most of life actually made room for thought. I didn’t come away a changed person or inspired to meet life head-on, so to speak, but a few what-ifs drifted my way as I absently pondered death, grief, life, and accident. Only 79 small pages of large type, but I most certainly thought and felt my way through them.
